4 questions you need to ask yourself before you snack
Before you reach for that snack regardless of the time of day you need to ask yourself why am I about to eat?
1. Am I actually thirsty?
Sometimes we reach for a snack when all we really need is a drink of water. A big glass of water is a great place to start if you find yourself wanting a snack.
2. Am I bored and using a snack as procrastination to avoid doing something else?
Come on, we all know we do this. If you answer yes to this questions put down the snack and get on with your work. If that’s not happening go for a walk outside and get some fresh air instead.
3. Am I about to eat because it’s there?
Mindless multitasking eating – we’ve all done it and what’s the point of it, especially if you’re staring at a computer screen and don’t even notice what you’re eating anyway.
4. Am I about to eat because someone brought food into the office and I don’t want to be rude?
Sometimes we get caught eating to be polite in the office. This is okay every now and then however there is way too much food floating around everyday to do this all the time. You’re not being rude by not eating. Make the choice for you, no one else actually cares whether you eat or not – do they?
