Tempting Tempeh with caramelised red onion & greens


  • Medium sized fry pan (with lid)
  • Small sized fry pan


  • 1 bunch of asparagus
  • Tempeh (store/deli bought)
  • Soy sauce
  • 1 red onion
  • Salt & pepper
  • Balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 an avocado 

*Serves one


1. Open & slice tempeh (we used 4 slices each around half a centimetre)

2. Slice onion into rings

3. Slice avocado


1. Pop your small fry pan onto a medium heat add tempeh & a splash of soy sauce, cook for 2-3mins on each side

2. Pop your medium fry pan onto heat with a quarter cup of water & add the asparagus, place the lid on & steam for 4 -5 minutes

3. Place your tempeh on a plate, remove asparagus from heat (leave lid on to keep warm)

4. Place a dash of oil in your small fry pan on a medium to high heat, add onions cook until caramelised

4. Drain asparagus, pop it on a plate, place tempeh ontop, wedge in your avo & drape the red onions over the top

Serve with a drizzle of balsamic dressing.
