Filling in the wellbeing blanks with Kemi Nekvapil from Raw Beauty Queen

We are all busy and are trying hard to fulfill big dreams and goals, manage our long to do lists and have a social life! The art of doing this without sacrificing our most important assets, our bodies and our health, is the challenge we are all faced with day to day. All of us, no matter who we are, have to keep working at it and can learn from each other – so on the blog we chat to a passionate bright sparks to hear about what they are up to and fill in their wellbeing blanks!

Kemi NekvapilToday we are filling in the blanks with energetic and driven Kemi Nekvapil from Raw Beauty Queen. Kemi is a speaker, coach and author in the health and wellbeing industry as has been for 20 years. Raw Beauty Queen runs coaching programs and retreats for women that want to feel beautiful, passionate and unique in their own skin. Kemi believes a woman’s unique beauty comes from who she is and the actions she chooses to take. A pioneer of raw food in Australia, and an international speaker, Kemi runs events and retreats that transform the lives of women. She blogs for The Huffington Post as well as writing for many national and international publications. She is the author of the new book Raw Beauty – The 7 Principles to nourish your body, transform your mind and create the life you want.

To Kemi to be well means: to put myself on my own to do list daily.

I have many jobs. I would not say what I do is a job. It is my passion and my purpose. Everyday is different. I do the same sorts of things on the same day each week. For example I coach 2 days a week, write one day a week etc.

Something I’m really excited about at the moment is launching my book Raw Beauty – The 7 principles to nourish your body, transform your mind and create the life you want. The feedback from women is very exciting. There is now a new conversation about beauty and many, many women are getting on board.

Commitment is easy for me when it comes to managing my wellbeing. I really dislike feeling sluggish, de-energised and foggy.

Road trips are usually hard for me when it comes to managing my wellbeing. I always stock up, but never want what I have packed when it comes to eating it.

2 organic raw juice cleanses (7-14 days) a year in Spring and Autumn brings my wellbeing back on track twice a year.

I usually sleep 6-8 hours per night. I’d like to sleep 7-8 hours per night.

Something I’ve found that really helps when it comes to my health, fitness and wellbeing is never leaving my food choices to hotels. I have a great mobile breakfast I have created over the years and travel with the ingredients I need and then buy fruit from the nearest shop. I always take my runners or my yoga mat when I travel for work or holiday.

Something I’ve learnt over the years when it comes to health, fitness and wellbeing is I am responsible, no one else.

The advice I would give to someone half my age when it comes to looking after their body is “You are responsible, no one else“.

The problem with being too obsessive and trying to be a perfectionist when it comes to your health and wellbeing is that it brings no joy, which is not wellbeing.

If my body stopped working my ability to do my work would be – if I cannot move my body 5-6 days a week I am not a very nice person! I would worry more for my family than my work!

If my body could talk right now the loudest thing that it would say / ask for is a long hot bath. Mmmm
